Goals of Operation Pill Drop
Dispose of your expired or unused medications conveniently at Rivertown PD’s Operation Pill Drop boxes available during business hours across the county.
– Raise consciousness regarding prescription drug abuse within our community.
– Safeguard children against the accidental ingestion of medications.
– Educate the public about secure medication storage practices.
– Implement preventative strategies to deter medication theft.
– Offer a reliable and secure method for the proper disposal of medications.
– Preserve the environment by employing responsible incineration methods for medications, rather than improper disposal in the trash or down the drain.
We kindly request that you take the following steps to ensure the safe disposal of medications through Rivertown PD’s Operation Pill Drop initiative: Please consider transferring medications from their original bottles into sealed zip lock bags. For liquids, we advise maintaining them within their initial containers, ensuring that caps are securely fastened using tape. To enhance confidentiality, we encourage you to remove labels from the bottles and render them unreadable before discarding. This meticulous approach guarantees the optimal disposal of your surplus medications. The Rivertown Police Department is a committed collaborator in the battle against illegal prescription drug activity, including unauthorized prescribing, sales, and misuse.
Please note that this program is exclusively designed for public use and is not intended for commercial purposes, such as doctors’ offices.
